In fact, corrugated has the best recycling rate of any container and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable making it an intelligent and ethical choice for a wide range of packaging solutions.

The Corrugated Recycles campaign is internationally recognised throughout Japan, the US and the Far East. Last year it was also launched in the UK and asks all manufacturers to incorporate the Corrugated Recycles logo on all printed packaging to promote their green credentials and their commitment to recyclability. The campaign also aims to educate the consumer regarding the environmental benefits of using corrugated packaging. At Norboard we fully endorse the campaign and encourage our customers to use the logo on any pre-printed liners which are corrugated onto their board.

Some Norboard grades use up to 40% less material than solid board equivalents, giving obvious environmental benefits in terms of using fewer raw materials. In some cases it also means the overall package will weigh less resulting in more units being transported in one load, therefore reducing the amount of truckloads needed per week.

The paper used to create our boards is from sustainable sources and, being part of the Smurfit Kappa Group means that, we have access to full recycling facilities and recycle 100% of our internal waste.
